Why anyone chooses to work 9 to 5 baffles me! My shifts at work this week have been a nightmare due to the fact they started at 9am. Knowing it was rush hour I allowed myself an extra 15 minutes to get to work. A 36 mile journey took 1hr 45minutes, and its motorway the whole way!! That’s an average speed of just over 20mph for the journey. What’s worse is… I was doing 60mph for the first 22 miles before the traffic ground to a halt. Nothing worse than sitting in traffic which seems to move one car length at a time. Usually my shifts are all different times meaning I get to avoid the rush hour!
This experience has further fuelled my desires to try make a career of this web development which will offer a lot more freedom, since I wouldn’t have to work from the same place everyday. At the moment I’m aiming to compliment my current income so that I’d be earning about the same as a full timer working 40hrs a week. Imagine that, full time salary, but only actually going to work for part time hours. Of course at the start a lot of effort has to be put in, meaning I’d probably spend way over 40hrs a week working on my sites, but in the long run, it will be worth it!
